Sample Bollywood Blockbuster (2025)
A muscular, well-paced action thriller that knows exactly what kind of film it wants to be.
The opening twenty minutes are the most confident piece of mainstream Hindi filmmaking you will see this year. There is a deliberate, almost methodical patience to the way the film sets up its world — the kind of confidence that only arrives when both director and lead actor have made their peace with the genre they’re working in.
What works
The action choreography is the obvious headline, but the real surprise is the sound design. Every punch lands with weight, every silence is held just a beat longer than you expect, and the score knows when to disappear. This is craft that the multiplex audience often takes for granted and almost never gets to this standard.
The supporting cast is uniformly strong. The film is generous with its secondary characters — nobody is on screen just to be a punchline or a prop — and that generosity is what gives the third act its emotional weight.
What doesn’t
The middle hour sags. There is a long mid-film stretch where the screenplay loses its nerve and reaches for tropes the first hour seemed proud to avoid. A romantic subplot that contributes nothing to the central story eats fifteen minutes that the runtime cannot afford. The film would have been sharper at two hours flat.
Should you watch it
Yes — in a theatre, with a good sound system, on a Friday night when you want to be entertained without being insulted. It is not a perfect film, but it is a film made by people who clearly love the genre and respect their audience.
The verdict
8.2 / 10. A confident, crowd-pleasing action thriller with one obvious flaw in the middle. Worth the ticket.
